Thursday numbers (Asgard) R1 16.9,Sing 9.8,Pass 3.1, Ass 2.8 (pg6)

Recommended Posts

The place I've worked at for the last decade or so completely shuts down over Christmas/New Year.  11 days off made up of 4 weekend days, 4 annual leave days and 3 public holidays.

This year I plan on seeing a lot of movies.

Agree with that (though I am more bullish with 65-67 2nd weekend and whatever follows from that.)

But even by conservative estimates R1 should be around 420 on 2nd Jan (Monday) as it will stay flat (drop of <10) from Sunday (giving a 13+ Monday using your 3rd Sun of 15.6)

At that point tough to see it not add 80 more in the rest of the run for 500.

I think this is a great conservative estimate. Tough to see how it won't do 500m, it's not gonna collapse after the holidays.

Using Kong's Fri-Mon with 16.9:

24.62 (+45.7%)

14.55 (-41.9%)

28.25 (+94.1%)

38.36 (+35.8)

-------

105.78 Fri-Mon

Probably optimistic (especially the Monday number) but it'd be nice to see. :)

If Rogue One hits 9 figures for the 4 day we're going to need a defibrillator for MovieMan when he logs on :stretcher:

Here in canada it's holidays for eveyone from 24th to 27th.

As a result Monday boxoffice will increase and Tuesday box office be down by a third at most.

It could increase low today but business looks very strong today.

Should increase 35% at least to 24 million.

Or  Sherlock

24M (+42%)

13.9M(-42%)

34.2M(146%+) or 27.8M(100%)

38.65M(12.6%+) or 31. 13M(12%+)

110M+/96M+ for the 4 day, it probably isn't jumping 146% on Sunday but even with 100%, we're in for a great weekend!!!

R1 +13% from Wed

Sing  +5.4% from True Wed (9.3)

Pass +7% from True Wed (2.9)

AC -14.5% from True Wed (3.27)

Assasins Creed seems already dead but Passengers can save some face. With Girl with the Dragon Tattoo holds it will be at 25m for the 6-day but I think it will hold a little better and equal or beat Dragon Tattoo's 6-day of 28m.

That Sunday & Monday combo is crazy high. Would love for it to happen but chances are slim to none, imo.

Not trying to be snarky or anything because I thought this was very strange and was wondering if anyone else is seeing this at their theater but Passengers went from having 3 2D showings per day along with 4 3D showings per day on Thursday to just one 2D showing and 6 3D showings for Friday.

Personally I can't watch films in 3D so I thought it was weird that BOTH theaters around me left only one 2D showing and at an inconvenient time when most folks are coming home from work.
