King Arthur (unfortunately) had a pretty bad drop at my theatre for some reason. $4.5M Saturday.

 

And I did all I could to help it lmao. A family wanted to go to guardians so I punched them in for King Arthur earlier. You're welcome Guy Ritchie, I just gave you $50 from Disney's pocket

I haven't watched a Transformers movie since the first sequel but I will definitely watch a Bumblebee movie if Shia Lebouf is the lead.

I did the reserved seating report for 3 theaters.  I would have done more, but this has taken me 3 hours.  For 2 of the theaters, I left out some of the 10pm showtimes.  I did as much as I could and this is for theaters that generally fill up pretty well.  These theaters (along with every other) is not a good way to determine #'s.  The fast filling ones like I am showing usually sell out horror movies that bomb with the weekend #'s.

FOLLOW UP:  I would like to follow this up by skimming through a bunch of theaters and selecting different films at specific showing that I think will perform well during Mother's Day.  I was a little disappointed with how The Boss Baby has turned out so far.  Looks like to be alot of competition tomorrow afternoon.  1) I think alot of females enjoyed GOTG Vol 1.  2) Smurfs vs Boss Baby vs BATB  3) Snatched vs rereleasing Mother's Day from last year  4) Foreign language and Multi-culture films  5) Adult female dramas

I'm thrilled with that number for GotG2! It may just come close to the $65M- $66M I predicted for the weekend after all.

Haven't been optimistic with my holds:

 

245 cume this weekend (62) [Looking at Rth's Sat update...the weekend should be 62-64]

18.5 2nd Mon-Thu (-50%) + 28.5 3rd weekend (-54%) = 47 for 292 cume

10 3rd Mon-Thu (-46%) + 15 4th weekend (-47%) = 25 for 317 cume (Have used 3-day weekend. Will include Mem Day Monday below)

7 4th Mon-Thu (-30%) + 7 5th weekend (-53%) = 14 for 331 cume

 

Even in the worst case I don't see it below 345.

SUMMARY:  Unfortunately I could not find Gifted.  I think these movies stand a chance to increase on Sunday: Snatched, Latin Lover, Gifted, Born in China, The Zookeeper's Wife, The Case for Christ, Hidden Figures, and The Shack.  Also these ones should over perform: Boss Baby, Smurfs, BatB, The Circle, Baahubali, Going in Style, Lost City of Z, Norman, Their Finest, Unforgettable, The Promise, 3 Generations, The Lovers, and Paris Can Wait.  Beauty and the Beast would increase, but usually double feature drive ins collapse on Sundays.  to compensate for this collapse, BATB should over perform still on Sunday and match Saturdays # on Sunday.

About a 33% increase for KA relative to real Friday #.  Snatched up almost 50% relative to real Friday???  wow.  18M weekend?

 

Fate of the Furious horrible horrible increase of only a bit above 60%  Hopefully it goes up to 2.3 otherwise we are all fucked in the derby

16.4 + 27.6 + 18.5 (-33%) = 62.5

 

I think like with Sat, Sun will surprise too. 29% drop will give 63.5.

63 would be a 57% drop.
