Still no Valerian:sadben:

Just an FYI.

Majestic Theaters (main theaters in WI and use MT as their online ticket spot) didn't release the Valerian showtimes until this evening. Might be a factor into why it hasn't shown up.

MT:

SMH: 25.4%

Apes: 24.8%

DM3: 11.9%

BD: 6.4%

Dunkirk: 5%

Not too surprised after it held on yesterday, but Dunkirk should be on here, rising, through to release.

I was looking at fandango today and Dunkirk & Girls Trip were selling really well so I think They will Both Blow Past Expectations

I think Girls Trip is gonna play like a well-reviewed version of Think Like a Man. That movie opened with $33M from 500+ less theaters and finished with $91M (and likely would've crossed $100M had it not taken a hit from the arrival of The Avengers). This one sounds like it's gonna be a pretty significant crowdpleaser all around and has a largely barren release schedule that follows.

Valerian is now on Amazon's homepage. STX is doing everything they can to raise awareness. Can't blame the marketing team.

The movie has had Cinemark Connections spots running before movies at my theater for a few months now (then again so did 47 Meters Down lmao). It's not their fault that the movie had "future cult hit at best" written all over it from the moment the first photos released early last year.

Exposure marketing is not effective marketing...I mean, yes, it helps, but I don't think they ever found a message to find any audience...

And since I frequent Cinemark, I've seen something about if at EVERY movie this summer...and nothing is selling to any family member I have (male 25 and up, female 25 and up, male and female under 25:)...all quadrants, no takers:)...

nope. Last week Spidey was on the top. But Apes wins.  And Dunkirk has IMAX-tickets, which counts separately.

I think: Dunkirk: 60-63, Girl 40-45
