For all that it's a romantic movie Richard Jenkins and his story line moved me the most.

I was just about to post that in here. Looking forward to these gigantic increases!

2013-Sliver Lining, Django, Les Miserable, zero dark 30....

2014 - The wolf of wall street, I always blamed Paramount for not being keep TWOWW harder in theater, that movie could have gross more with that kind of PTA's hold.

2015- American Sniper, oscar blockbuster

2016-The Revenant

2017-Hidden figure and La la land

2018- The Post only? With lower total gross than all others, only one BP nominee gross significant raw number is pretty sad.....hope SOW can pull giant number......Wish all small indie could enjoy gigantic jump!!

Moviepass gonna helps!!

The Post and most likely Darkest Hour (since everyone's known for so long that Oldman's had his Oscar in the bag and the film has already reached maximum potential) are the ones that will benefit the least from nominations. Everything else (meaning the other 5 still in theaters) should enjoy a solid bump.

2013 Oscar season was the best, All the BP nominees grossed big-big raw number after nom, and they did so as a whole!

Still wonder why there was such a huge influx that year.....

For Maze Runner...

Atom had the big presale deal ($4 any ticket)...so Fandango and MovieTicket.com probably aren't getting as many presales...

My current Thursday theater presales (before any Moviepass effect:)...

1st local (Cinemark) - Non-Atom seller

Maze Runner - 7/125, 2/125 for 9/250

2nd local (Regal) - Atom seller

Maze Runner - 44/125, 9/125 for 53/250

Hostiles - 3/50, 0/50 for 3/100

Definitely an Atom effect going on in how sales are turning out so far...

Current Sales

Cinemark local - Maze Runner - 9/125, 6/125 for 15/250

Regal local (Atom deal) - Maze Runner - 51/125, 20/125 for 71/250

Regal local - Hostiles - 13/50, 0/50 for 13/100

TFW your theater is one of the ten dropping Darkest Hour :jeb!:

Big drops for The Commuter, Proud Mary, and Paddington

A bit surprised Fox couldn't push The Post into 3k

1,500 theaters never came to fruition for Forever My Girl like originally planned

All 4 theatres I usually look at (two are 24 screen, one is 16 screen and the other is 10 screen) aren't doing Maze Runner previews so I can't even look at any comps

@WrathOfHan give us the deets

Wow - no previews for the big screen count theaters?  That should probably hold down the Thursday # a little:)...
