It's pretty weird to think I'll be seeing SOW and Phantom Thread within the next week and can buy them in 6-8 weeks

And the one you won't be seeing is the best (IMO of course) of them all.

Pulse:

1. Black Panther

2. Fifty Shades

3. The Post

4. Black Panther 3D

5. Winchester

Winchester has currently only sold two tickets at my theater for tonight

First post so forgive my ignorance, but what is the difference between these tracking sites? Is this for U.S?

They are two different ticket sellers in the U.S.

The first is MovieTickets.com which gives a percentage of tickets sold over a rolling 24 hour period for the top 5 movies.

Pulse is on Fandango which shows tickets sold minute by minute (usually 15 minutes behind live)

One thing to know is that some movies do better on one site (like foreign films on Movietickets.com) and some do better on the other (like teen-skewing films on Fandango)...and we do not have data coming from the 3rd (Atom)...

Another thing to know is what the overall presale market looks like.  In a week like this one, very little presales are happening for the opening film, so 5% on Movietickets.com for Winchester is a very small overall sales number.  So you can use that number to compare to the other films on MT.com to get an idea of what their presales were for that day on that site.  You can do the same thing on Fandango in a different way - a lot of folks actually count sales/minute for 5 minutes for a film to see what it might be preselling at that time...tends to give an idea of how it compares to other movies...

Another thing to know is what deals are available for certain movies in presales.  Right now, Winchester has been BOGO on Atom all week...so anyone buying these tickets (all 5 people) are probably leaning to Atom for their presale site, if possible, so presales for this movie will be even weaker on Fandango and MT.com...

Winchester 33 1408

2.34%

Winchester's at 56% of Happy Death Day ($14.6M) and 42% of Insidious 4 ($12.5M). Don't have anything from Jigsaw to use that as a comparison.
