So it’s fair to assume that MI was pretty close to The Equalizer last Tuesday on Pulse yesterday, right? That’s a bit worrying.

Equalizer 2,297 for the entire Tues. 

 

MI6 was at 3,328 for the 8 hour period of 4pm-midnight. The absolute least it probably would have done for a full day was 4k - could have been close to 5k though.

I think this indicates something O/U 60M right now. MI is going to be a bit more presale based than The Equalizer was, especially with the must see in IMAX factor.

I don’t think it is either but probably more so than something like Equalizer or Skyscraper

It could sell zero or 1 million tickets, but I am staying firm on 100m OW until I can find or receive any reason to go differently.

Uhhhh the fact that the last one, also extremely well received and well marketed, only did half of that? The fact that Tom Cruise movies probably have a ceiling? The fact that even an outlier in the genre like Skyfall did "only" mid 80s? This is my most anticipated movie of the summer by far, but some people here are starting to set themselves up for disappointment. I'm happy with anything over 60m. 62m is my prediction.

I would like to see 70m. That's my goal for strong success. 60m or so would be fine, but I'll be hurt.

75m is probably about the franchise ceiling ? Can see beat this and do 68m (10% more than the last one adjusted)

I so agree - seems like we go thru this same thing every time an MI movie comes out.
