Dune MTC1

Previews(T-10) - 33648/233677 622708.02 1131 shows (+2356)

OD(T-11) - 32402/518316 592499.30 2528 shows (+2645)

Another solid day. Its started to accelerate as well. Should be ahead of NTTD which fell off the cliff in the final few days.

Dune Nationwide T-10 Days

I have MTC2 data for 2 days back, based on those ratios.

THU - $1.25M

FRI - $1.2M

Rest - $1.2M

Total - $3.65M

At same time, MTC 1 is way ahead NTTD but MTC 2 is way behind. Overall quite even, but MTC 1 is more frontloaded. MTC 1 is also ahead of Venom 2. Let's see how things goes in another week.

"Insiders say advance sales for the movie from Oscar winning filmmaker Chloé Zhao, is estimated to have racked up $2.6M in its first 24 hours; an amount that’s +86% ahead of Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings ($1.4M) and +30% ahead of Black Widow ($2M) over the same period of time.

For No. 1 exhibitor AMC, Eternals reps their largest day one sales so far this year".

You nailed the gross @charlie Jatinder

The Last Duel counted today at 11am EST for Friday October 15:

NY (AMC Fresh Meadows 7): 8 (4 showtimes)
Miami (AMC Sunset Place 24): 8 (5 showtimes)
Grand Rapids (AMC Grand Rapids 18): 5 (3 showtimes)
Austin (AMC Lakeline 9): 0 (2 showtimes)
Tempe/Phoenix (AMC Centerpoint 11): 11 (4 showtimes)
San Francisco (AMC Metreon 16): 26 (4 showtimes)
LA (AMC Universal): 38 (3 showtimes)

Total tickets sold in 7 theaters: 96.
Up 110% since Monday.
Comps: Stillwater had on Wednesday of its release week 41 sold tickets for Friday in 6 theaters (without NY so here vs 88)

and The Green Knight had on the same day 344 sold tickets for Friday also in 6 theaters.
It will probably have way more walk-ups than TGK but The Last Duel is again only at ca. 1/3, the gap stayed pretty exactly the same.

Halloween Kills counted today at 11am EST for Thursday, October 14:

NY (AMC Fresh Meadows 7):
145 (7 showtimes)
Miami (AMC Sunset Place 24): 99 (4 showtimes)
Grand Rapids (AMC Grand Rapids 18): 52 (1 showtime)
Austin (AMC Lakeline 9): 9 (2 showtimes)
Tempe/Phoenix (AMC Centerpoint 11): 70 (6 showtimes)
San Francisco (AMC Metreon 16): 119 (5 showtimes)
LA (AMC Universal): 512 (13 showtimes)

Total tickets sold in 7 theaters: 1.006.

Up nice 70% since Monday.
Comps (always counted on Wednesday for Thursday and in the same 7 theaters): AQP II (4.8M from previews) had 1.209 sold tickets = 83% = 4.0M (slightly better than on Monday).
The Forever Purge (1.33M) had
168 sold tickets = 8.0M
and It 2 (10.5M) had 2.627 sold tickets = 38% = 4.0M.
Averagely
5.33M at the moment.

Halloween Kills counted today at 11am EST for Friday, October 15:

NY (AMC Fresh Meadows 7):
339 (11 showtimes)
Miami (AMC Sunset Place 24): 64 (9 showtimes)
Grand Rapids (AMC Grand Rapids 18): 91 (3 showtimes)
Austin (AMC Lakeline 9): 15 (4 showtimes)
Tempe/Phoenix (AMC Centerpoint 11): 43 (9 showtimes)
San Francisco (AMC Metreon 16): 68 (10 showtimes)
LA (AMC Universal): 634 (11 showtimes)

Total tickets sold in 6 theaters: 1.254.

Up also good 67% since Monday.
Comps (always counted on Wednesday for Friday and in the same 7 theaters): The Conjuring 3
(9.8M true Friday) had 1.074 sold tickets = as on Monday x1.17 = 11.5M true Friday (but as I said The Conjuring 3 had no Thursday previews which could have helped its Friday presales),
Old (5.4M) had 262 = 25.9M
The Invisible Man (8.25M) had 626 = 16.5M
and It 2 (26.5M true Friday) had 3.272 sold tickets = again 38% = 10M.
So between 10M and 26M true Friday
(?!).

Good jumps but very uneven in the comps. Interesting that both Thursday and Friday are at 38% of It 2. Halloween Kills is part of a franchise but I still think this film is really made for walk-ups (and will have more than It 2 had).
I think at the moment around 5M+ in previews and 15M true Friday are likely judging from my theaters.

Variety has

Halloween 35 to 40

Last Duel 10

Bond 25

Halloween Kills,” the horror sequel starring Jamie Lee Curtis, should slash its way to the top of box office charts when it opens in 3,700 North American theaters on Friday.

From Universal Pictures and Blumhouse Productions, the latest “Halloween” installment is projected to generate $35 million to $40 million in its first three days of release. That would be significantly less than its predecessor, 2018’s “Halloween,” made in its unexpectedly huge $77 million debut. The follow-up film, however, isn’t expected to replicate those results in part because “Halloween Kills” will premiere on Peacock, the NBCUniversal-owned streaming service, on the same day as its theatrical release, which could curb ticket sales.

“Halloween Kills” isn’t the only new movie to open this weekend, though it will easily tower over fellow newcomer, Disney and 20th Century’s period drama “The Last Duel.” The long-delayed film is aiming to collect $10 million from 3,000 North American theaters, though some box office experts suggest box office receipts may not hit double digits. While that would be disappointing for a movie starring A-listers like Matt Damon, Adam Driver, Jodie Comer and Ben Affleck, it wouldn’t be terribly surprising because “The Last Duel” is exactly the kind of movie that hasn’t been thriving at the box office. Older audiences should be the target audience for a film like “The Last Duel,” but in general, moviegoers over the age of 45 have been most reluctant to return to their local multiplex. “The Last Duel” will also face competition from MGM’s James Bond movie “No Time to Die,” which opened last weekend with $55 million and appeals to a similar demographic. The 007 adventure looks to bring in around $25 million in its second outing.

I made some improvements to the scrapper, and it now excludes blocked seats from the count. I was already accounting for most of them manually, but there's a theater that must've recently updated some of their seat maps with blocked seats. So I wasn't accounting for it until today. That's why the increases from F-Sun don't exactly match up with yesterday. But it's not really noticeable here since it's a small amount and the movie releases tomorrow. It may be more noticeable with Dune and Eternals

I noticed that some auditoriums looked slightly different a few days ago, but I didn't bother to check if I needed to update the seat counts until yesterday. Hence, the net decrease in total seats.

I was hoping that BW comp would be better, but keep in mind that BW has 3 more days of presales at this point. I guess this might underindex in Megaplex like SC did, or sales will just be more backloaded because of other movies around the corner. Still early so we'll see
