War of the Apes will be fine but... I wonder if it's bleakness will turn off general audiences/WOM.

Friend of mine saw a work-in-progress cut back in January and said everyone walked out exhausted.

War/Apes definitely won't top Dawn DOM but 650 m WW is probably enough to keep the studio happy.

Apocalypse did 26.3m with $ 8.2m in midnights ($ 18.1m real friday) and debut with $ 65m in 3 days.

POTC5 did $ 23.4m with $ 5.5m in midnights ($ 17.9m real friday). So POTC is not frontloaded like Apocalypse and should hold better during the weekend. Said that, i think it could get the same $ 65m debut or a little more. Also it will have better legs because it's not a super hero movie.

What kind of 4 day numbers we can expect for Vol. 2?

The $ 4.9m number are already great, but $ 5.32m is fantastic.

$ 400m finish sounds more probably every day. Even if WW break the legs, it will do $ 380m at minimum. And i don't think this will happen, WW it will be huge but both will co-exist in my opinion.

It's amazing how a couple weeks ago some people were saying that after its OW GotG Vol. 2 would barely match its predecessor's total and now it's gonna achieve this feat in its fourth weekend. :)

Great hold for GotG2.  If it follows AoU pattern, about 21.5M 3-day 28 4-day and it'll pass GotG1 by Sunday.

I remember the meltdowns because of the preview number, the IM2 comparisson in the debut, the CW legs talk every weekend even with Guardians performing far from that...

I remember my prediction in $ 160m debut and $ 400 - 410m total. It debuted with $ 146m but now it still have a shot in + 400m total.
