Weekend is double impressive because

A. Pandemic

B. It’s available at home.

Don’t think WB could’ve expected this much.

It’ll be interesting to see how this is perceived by the studios and exhibitors. Hopefully it shows them that there’s a scenario where they can make theatrical and streaming co-exist.

Both movies are very different from each other in tone, character, story, so I'm expecting the same for the next one. Maybe a psychedelic fantasy with Circe and Cheetah full of action or a mythological story with Medusa or Titans (the gods ones).

40 years after WW84, Patty needs to level the character to the same Diana in Batman v Superman. A more adult story in a R movie would fit very well.

Glad for them.

Is it possible they’re only announcing this as a distraction?

Would seem strange to announce its being fast tracked if it was only for a distraction. I’ll wait to see when Patty or Gal post confirmation on Twitter.

I honestly can’t imagine anything worse or ill fitting for this character than suddenly making the next film R rated. Patty Jenkins clearly sees this as a franchise aimed at empowering women from a young age, going for a BvS tone and adult rating just isn’t going to happen in a million years with this incarnation of the character.

It's just the last case I imagine, but I don't think I will happen.

I think that DC's calendar for 2023 is already full but will be announced next year. Static Shock, Shazam 2 and maybe a low budget one like Birds of Prey or maybe Man of Steel sequel.

So 2024 is my bet for this but they can push it to summer 2023 and Shazam 2 moves back to April.
