There's people who think it'll miss 200m Dom? Lol I honestly think there's a better chance at a 150m ow than missing 200m lol not saying it'll do 150m ow, I currently have it at 125-135m for ow, but I just think sub-200m Dom Total sounds ludicrous

People are just very sensitive after A) a disappointing year at the box office outside Disney's tentpoles + Sony's FFH and B ) getting burned by their own over-predictions. harlequinade
Really spoilery TV spots started to appear. Well not to someone who didn't read the book but if you did there's some stuff in them you'll immediately recognize

eddyxx
So ready for this to come out. I've avoided all ads and promo so far except the first trailer and bit the bullet and watched the final trailer earlier. Shit looks crazy. I'm there on day one.

As has been proven with pretty much every single movie, it absolutely does. It's just through a slightly different metric.

If we look at horror movies, Crawl is only marginally higher than Pet Semetary on critics choice but the former was critically acclaimed and the latter isnt. La Llorona is rated much lower than The Nun on criticschoice although La Llorona and The Nun has pretty similar scores on RT and metacritic.

Have you looked at any of these any closer? Lion King and Aladdin at roughly the same - just like on RT, both with average rating and percentage, as well as metacritic. What's the problem there? Dark Phoenix being significantly lower than both, just like on every other site. Endgame's got a significantly higher average rating than OUATIH on RT, as well as a roughly 10% higher percentage. The only difference there is Metacritic's higher score for Hollywood, but that's not the same difference as a 7.8/10 avg rating for OUATIH, and an 8.3/10 for Endgame. What's the problem there with Critics' Choice? Endgame's also got a significantly higher average rating than Us on RT. Us only has Endgame beat by 3 numbers on MetaCritic. What's the problem there? Hobbs and Shaw's got Aquaman barely beat on both metrics on RT, it's not exactly a landslide victory we're talking 2% and a 0.06/10 average rating. Is it really that unlikely to you to imagine Aquaman got ONE number higher on Critics' Choice? ONE. What are you trying to say here? Yeah Crawl only has Pet Sematary beat by very little on Critics' Choice, but have you looked at MetaCritic recently? Crawl is at 60 and Sematary is at 57. Ooooh wow what a landslide victory. The Nun doesn't just beat La Llorona on Critics' Choice, it's got a 46 on MetaCritic compared to La Llorona's 41. The only thing you've succeeded at here is these things go up and down on most websites, but the trajectory is almost always identical. Does that now make MetaCritic useless? It's also got a similar trajectory to RT, you've just gotta know how to use. It's generally much tougher to get a high MetaCritic score as opposed to an RT percentage, but it's also rare to get a very low MC score as opposed to an RT percentage. Critics' Choice is similar in that 0-40 basically doesn't even exist (which is really bizarre), so 70s isn't as high of a score as it seems on the surface next to MC and RT - but low 60s is pretty damn low. You've just got to know how it's weighted. Critics' Choice is really not that off from RT. Edited August 30, 2019 by Lucas
Valonqar
This movie can't come soon enough and I hope it takes all screens from certain WTF expansion that tries to inflate its minuscule total. Fuck barely attended movies that think they are Endgame. Edited August 30, 2019 by Valonqar
