Got admit, I was thinking about your six month Twitter Implosion prediction yesterday and saying to myself, "Well, doesn't look like it'll happen by then but Elon sure is giving it the ol' college try at the last minute!"

(okay, it was more noting the irony of pulling this verified stunt [and burning even more Twitter credibility to the ground in the process] nearly six months to the day of his takeover, but close enuf)

Musk definitely looks like an idiot, but I can't help but side-eye what he's doing with twitter and thinking that China, Russia, SA et al. will come out the winners at the end of it.

Well, it wasn't confirmed as an hour ago or so when I last looked into it, but earlier today a sudden raft of high profile accounts got a blue checkmark and after some investigation the only common denominator was 1m+ followers.  A lot of folks got distracted by the dril/Elon spat, but others noted that a whole host of other folks got their checkmarks restored/added and then it wasn't hard at all to notice what was the same about all of them.

Interesting to note that some people with 1M+ followers don’t seem to have had the verified badge returned, case in point being school shooting survivor David Hogg who is staunchly anti-gun/anti-Trump.

It’s amazing how badly Musk has bungled this. I bet working at Twitter HQ right now is like trying to babysit the baby from The Incredibles.

Really happy to see that cancer Tucker out of Faux News. Its not going to make that network that much better but he cannot be allowed such a high profile place to vomit his nonsense. Hopefully in future one can directly sue this cancer for everything he spews in case he goes podcast route.

Before all this cable news news dropped today, I was catching up on the Pras trial (Leo testified?). The spy movies have been missing a big angle...

Wild how this goofy YouTube video from 12 years ago's message is more powerful and prescient today than it was when it first came out.

Indictments Coming This Summer in Georgia

 By  63 Comments

“Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis on Monday said she would announce this summer whether former President Donald Trump and his allies would be charged with crimes related to alleged interference in Georgia’s 2020 election,” the Atlanta Journal Constitution reports.

“Willis revealed the timetable in a letter to local law enforcement in which she asked them to be ready for ‘heightened security and preparedness’ because she predicted her announcement ‘may provoke a significant public reaction.'”

“In the letters, Willis said she will announce possible criminal indictments between July 11 and Sept. 1, sending one of the strongest signals yet that she’s on the verge of trying to obtain an indictment against Trump and his supporters.”

(okay, not news of a new [and much more serious] Trump Indictment.  But news that there will almost certainly be one)

Overjoyed that Putin just lost his #1 American Media assett. As bad as his pushing his election crap was..and it was bad..his acting as a mouthpiece for Putin was even worse.

Dan Lemon was nohere near as bad a Carlson, but his arrogance had made him unwatchable to me, even though I agreed with a lot of his politics.

Someone tell the Russos that no one's going to watch The Gray Man 2 if they're all preoccupied with deepfake porn (and leave Marilyn Monroe alone)...

Were their opinions on the movie industry and filmmaking always this trash or is this strictly a post-MCU development?

Tucker Carlson is scum and Don Lemon is obnoxious (and somehow made Nikki Haley, who sucks as a human being, look like the hero in a scenario), so both of them losing their positions of power in the same day feels like a blessing in disguise.
