It was. Kind of astounding that they're still trying to milk this bomb for all it's worth but I also feel like the show has lived on due to the fact it tried to position itself as a wannabe prestige show that went to some truly weird places at times (the first season at least, I didn't bother with the second after word got out that it just sucked and wasn't even fun to laugh at).

The implosion of the music-driven TV show from late 2000s/early-to-mid 2010s is truly quite something. Glee, Smash, Nashville, Empire...all began as certified hits before seeing big drops in quality (and ratings) in no time.

Of the ones listed, Empire is definitely the victim of being on broadcast TV. It meant that they needed 18-20 episodes every season which means that they need some episodes which go far left field and bring in ridiculous plots.

If Empire was on cable with maybe 10 episodes a season, it would probably be looked upon as an all time classic run instead of the "Oh yeah, that was good for 2 seasons and then went on for an additional 4"

there's still a bunch of leaked dms from him trying groom minors.

I think it is a case he won't stand trial because they can't get the evidence to convict him in a court of law, but his reputation has been wrecked..and mayve deservedly so.

He might not want to sue. He might well come out looking not that he is innocen, but that they could not nail him. Huge difference.

Tik Tok's chairman did not do himself or the company any favors today by his painfully obivious dodging of question from the congressional investigating TiK Tok's ties to the Chinese Government and possible spying on Americans by Tik Tok.

Betting is a ban is coming. Don't know how this would be enforced, but will not help American CHinse relations which are going south fast...due mainly to China's actions.

Is this supposed to be an apology?

Good thing he didn't watch "You People", I guess...

Anyone else following this?

It's like Elle in Legally Blonde, except she never gets to the point. Can picture Taylor getting ready to play Vegas yesterday, wondering why her alerts were blowing up....

I am! Forget that Depp/Heard nonsense, this is the kind of silly celebrity trial I can get completely invested into following. What's amusing to me is that all the commentators when discussing this trial are mostly pointing out that Gwyneth is barely seen as an actress these days and more as a brand, the last time she headlined a studio movie was 2010's Country Strong (a film I forgot existed until now lol) and since then her most notable credits have been Pepper Potts, supporting/guest parts in Ryan Murphy projects and...Mortdecai yikes heh.

Too bad that Goop is married to Ryan Murphy's producing partner/collaborator as this whole trial would make a great season of Feud. Lol maybe Rian Johnson will set Knives Out 3 at a ski lodge.

.

His fans will be totally normal about this, I'm sure...

If it wasn't specified I would've thought these texts came from the prosecution LMAO. Everything about them screams domestic abuse through and thorough. We'll see how things go from here and if they ever put out that video but I don't think these texts are putting him in a more positive light whatsoever as far as the court of public opinion will go.
