Monday Numbers - A:IW 24.74M

Recommended Posts

So with Infinity War being this big can Disney get their second three billion year (after doing it in 2016)

So with Thor, Coco and TLJ they have $136.7M.

Now for the following films (I would write my predictions like this minimum / maximum (most of them will probably be totally stupid, sorry) and in the second () the amount the films need to get to 3B.

Black Panther: (695 / 703 ) (700)

A Wrinkle in Time: (95 / 97) (96)

Infinity War: (650 / 750) (700)

Solo: (250 / 350) (325)

Incredibles 2: (250 / 350) (350)

Ant-Man 2: (175 / 225) (225)

Christopher Robin (25 / 75) (75)

The Nutcracker: (50 / 150) (125)

Wreck-it-Ralph 2: (150 / 175) (150)

Marry Poppins: (50 / 150) (125)

Total: (2526.7 / 3161.7) (3007.7M)

(I think Wreck-it-Ralph and Marry Poppins have a higher max. but they won't gross everything in this year (Marry Poppins might even gross just half in this))

All my life I've enjoyed the theater experience but nothing beats the anticipation of seeing a Marvel or Star Wars movie. Those are types of movies I go to multiple times in IMAX.

As far as comedy goes... I would go see more comedy films if there were more good ones.

What do you consider a good comedy? There have been a couple of good ones so far year but there have also been some stinkers as well.

(Avengers Theme)

They should do a newspaper cinematic universe, uniting the reporters from The Post/All The President's Men (WashPo), Zodiac (SF Chronicle) and Spotlight (BG).

A good one. I honestly don't remember the last time I saw a comedy in theaters.

There are 6 reserves shows left at my theater and 5 of them are at “almost full” status. I didn’t see this yesterday at my theater. Discount Tuesday is definitely helping but I wouldn’t be surprised to see this over $26 million today.

Wow, spectacular hold for Blockers then. I’d like to see BP with at least 400k.

BP had a double feature bump for the weekend. will probably be down 40% from last monday 280k

400 would be perfectly reasonable compared to last Tues, Wed,  Thurs, which had no double features. They were obviously affected by IW despite that, so all I’m really wondering about/hoping for is for that to continue after IW’s OW.

Black Panther released almost three months ago, and it has the second best PTA in the top ten. That is extraordinary. Disney/Marvel is competing with itself at this point.

This is happening in BP’s 11th week. If they move A4 up to the international date for spoiler reasons again (date is open), then that would be Captain Marvel’s 8th week — and it’s possible she’ll have an even bigger role in A4. I really have to wonder just how much the timing there could end up being worth for Captain Marvel.
