Jedi is great, better than TFA but not worthy of this list....

 

Boyhood.... it hasn't aged well with me sadly - I fear another revisit (been a few years) would only diminish it more.

 

There Will Be Blood.... I have yet to understand the fawning over the boringness that is DDL's Oscar Winning Role / Film. The Master and Magnolia are both better (haven't seen Phantom Thread yet). I have seen TWBB 3x now (once in 2007/08 for the Oscar season and then twice on DVD) and it never engages me - but then again, that happens a lot with "masterpieces" particularly of the modern era.

Life of Pi is the only film from my list so far that’s made it on. 

 

Out of all the films in my Top 10 list, I think Requiem for a Dream has the lowest chance of making it in. I know it’s not eveyone’s favorite Aronofsky film but I really wish it would get more love.

Great start, don't love boyhood, and haven't watched grave of the fireflies, but he rest is really good. Sad that There will be Blood and Cidade de Deus are so low, though.

I d put it in the same trashbin as Manchester by the Sea.

Those movies pile up misery to such a ridiculous heights  you end up laughing at them for their clumsiness.

It is very easy to write movies like Grave of the Fireflies and Manchester by the Sea, any idiot can do it.
