The Equalizer 2 may also fail its original's WW total (OS total seems way too tiny atm)

It's got a shitload of markets left to open in.

Spain 10 August 2018

Also lol-ing hard at Slender Man getting a D- CS grade. Pretty sure Suburbicon was the last movie to score that low (obviously mother! was the last film to get the dreaded F).

Yeah, it seems that Slender Man is the 13th movie to get the D- CinemaScore.

Other movies that got the D- score:

1- The American

2- Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2

3- Dark Water

4- Eyes Wide Shut

5- Gigli

6-The Ninth Gate

7- Skyline

8- A Sound of Thunder

9- Suburbicon

10- Turn It Up

11- Vanilla Sky

12- Willard

That a roller coster, we went to 150m to 130m to Deadline phone ringing saying 178m.

Who are the people calling deadline and why they do it.... we will maybe never know.

Deadline does not plant studio hit pieces because they have to have a great relationship with them in order to actually function, so I have no idea why you keep perpetuating the notion that they do that. They might not be exactly right about the number, but it has to be in that area and from a great source for them to post about it. They are into clickbait, but they are not going to run anything defamatory.

Fair enough, but even looking at those markets, and seeing what TE1 did in them (the ones in which TE2 has opened, its total is virtually flat from the 1st one, albeit a little under technically), I still wouldn't call it a lock for TE2 to beat the 1st one WW. It could be at 10-11M OS total after this weekend, so that's still another 70-80 it needs to trot out for E2 to beat E1 (assuming that E2 beats E1 DOM, which probably won't be by much). Let's see. It's gonna be close and I could very well be wrong, though.

Vanilla Sky was actually a good movie. Hell Willard is more scarier than Slenderman, it’s not great but it’s something though least to say. Slenderman should be a stone cold F, I haven’t seen it but it looks terrible.

Oh, bother.... amirite? Christopher Robin still has a lot of family movie-friendly OS territories to open on (it hasn't touched the vast majority of big European markets, i.e.), but it really has to hope that they show up, given that it won't even get a Chinese opening. 75M budget isn't the worst, but it's still a ways off before being in the black. DOM, 100M is not completely dead yet, but I think 90+ is its realistic better hope atm. It's tracking smack in the middle of Pete's Dragon and Gnomeo & Juliet, with the big weekdays and the PD-like weekends balancing each other out. Since I don't think it's gonna have Peter Rabbit-legs at this point (50% drop 2nd weekend for a movie of its kind is pretty harsh, after all), 90+ seems about right for a ceiling. @CoolEric258's club probably ain't surviving this one. (If it somehow does, then Nutcracker will kill the stubborn bastard for good .)

I've accepted my fate a week ago. :(

jw2's final china tally : ¥1,695.7 ($265.0), 16th (in yuan) all time.

if meg's dom beats meg's china, that would be a shocker and could happen. both markets could bring 100 odd total : 40*2.5 dom and 50*2 china.

I agree that Vanilla Sky wasn't that bad. I guess the whole dream/reality scenario is what probably confused audiences. It was really hard to keep it going with so many twists and changes. I never watched that movie again, though.

Willard was a surprise, I enjoyed that movie and I even own it. Perhaps general audiences didn't buy the idea of rats killing people, so maybe that was too much fucked up in that regard, lol. I have no idea. Maybe the ending really didn't click with general audiences (

Spoiler

guy gets sent to the mental institution and gets to know another mouse that'll probably start the whole thing again...

)

I haven't seen Slender Man yet, but judging by the movie's synopsis that I read, I wonder how the hell it didn't get the F CinemaScore.
