I wonder why I keep hearing

that Stephen King is happy with the movie they've made when everyone else is pretty pessimistic about it. Even these recent articles dumping on the movie are mentioning it. I guess that's my last ray of hope for this, slim as it may seem.

Stephen King is under contract to promote DT. He can't say anything bad about the movie.

I've been hearing positive vibes from him for  this for a while now but if you say so, I guess it makes sense. We'll find out in a year or two I guess. Or sooner.

I'm surprised that Variety piece came out before. Don't they usually wait til after it opens to drop bombs?

I wonder if any of them will try to bury this movie with repeated articles about its suckiness like Deadline did with The Mummy. It'll be interesting to see.

I wish we still got bombs like The Island of Dr. Moreau. Shit that actually left an impression in their aftermath.

The fired Stanley retreated into the rainforest to lick his wounds. Then he came across some of the film’s new extras, and convinced them to sneak him onset. There, he covertly played a bulldog man in several scenes, without the producers ever realizing.

Brando refused to read the script or learn his lines. His assistant would read them to him via earpiece. He also wanted the script to be revised so he could be a dolphin in the end. Seriously.

While the two men deny this and insist their joint contribution was limited to giving the director notes, one insider said that Rothman spent hours in the editing bay offering his input.

Rothman :stretcher:

And in Hollywood, you know, everyone is an expert. Most of them are expert editors. They can't direct, they can't write, they can't act, but, by God, they all think they can edit. -  John Frankenheimer
