Releasing political movies right after or during elections doesn't seem to work out. Miss Sloane was another big casualty of the 2016 election when people really did not want to watch another thing about politics after that nasty election season.

Christmas movies, especially ones targeted towards families, typically have very strong holds on the Thanksgiving weekend, even with more competition. A Christmas Carol back in 2009 saw an increase over that weekend, as did Elf and Polar Express.

I feel like Creed must have found a huge audience on streaming that loved it for 2 to increase that much from the first's opening. Gonna be like a 60%+ increase over the first's 5 day.

What’s the budget for Creed II? It’ll likely make its money back from domestic alone, I’m assume it’s being split 50/50 between MGM and Warner Bros. 

 

Im curious with any studio films that has two studios involved how the profits are divided up.

Instant Family is the quiet story of the season. It keeps increasing whereas other movies had both increases and decreases since Monday.
