Oh boy. This looks like absolute dogshit. And at the risk of being accused of sexism, the fact that a movie with a similar sort of dynamic between D-list superheroines just flopped terribly will be doing little to help.

Sony, just...stick to one Spider-Man live action movie every 2-3 years and an animated Spider-verse here and there, please?

It's surprising that of the Spidey spinoffs this one is the cheapest and plays into the Spider-Man connections the least despite (aside from the very end of Venom 2) it's the one most related to Spider-Man

It’s a 3 minute trailer. We don’t know any of that yet. 
 

I’m not big on Spider Man films, for example you mentioned a dark suit in the last one and while I went to see that, I can’t even remember seeing a dark suit lol. This looks like a baddie version of a spider man jumping around to me.

It's weird that they are making a character who is in a total of 5 issues and is a good guy/neutral the main villain of the movie

It’s interesting how common nowadays the complaint that “it looks like a tv show” is for movies. Is it because movies look worse, TV shows look better or it’s just a trendy complaint to make?

 

 

Anyways, it looks fun and cool to me, but don’t take my opinion seriously, I tend to enjoy critical and financial flops more than most.

My favorite thing of the trailer might be trying to pass Sydney Sweeney as a plain looking girl by having her wear glasses and disheveled hair, like a 1990s teen comedy.

There is a side of me that Sony makes these films to piss Marvel off and also keep the rights for another couple of years.

This trailer, if anything, made me glad that the Hemsworth iteration of Star Trek 4 never got made, as that had this director attached. A CW fanfilm aesthetic is the last thing either that brand needed, or Spider-Man and Marvel need.
