Silly rule, imo but then again I care very little about other people.

Hidden comment is not a spoiler but an opinion

Yes, I know.  But I don't recall if linking to a piece that has spoilers on it is verbotten.  Hence the proviso about checking in with Staff when one is unsure about rules. ;)

rules are for fools who don't enjoy running near swimming pools. 😎

That's why I'm gonna buy this site and be the sole mod.

you heard it here first.

but nah, I'll follow the rules but not because I'm supposed to

I just wanna know if the spoiler policy also stands for TV shows like it does for movies cause as far as I know it doesn't. Pretty sure everyone was talking freely about the end of Game of Thrones outside its main thread in the days after it aired.

JOKER (2019)B+

was hoping for A/A- but B+ is not too awful.

Welp just as I predicted. The movie isn't going to appeal to the GP.  This score is inflated by fans/target audience as well! So it's probably around C-/D+.

Joker getting a B+ is actually pretty good for its type of movie. Only way you can really get a bad CS grade is if you have false advertising (Joker's marketing makes it clear exactly what kind of movie it is) or if the movie leaves people completely repulsed (like mother! and its F grade).

Mine was sold out.

Nice.

I should probably add a little more context for my situation. I went to see it at about 3pm, the theater I mainly go to is less popular than the really big one with an "IMAX" screen. I imagine it sold well there.

3/4 full for matinee, no kids, great audience

zero kids in mine too. almost surprised tbh.

But when I come to think about it, I haven't seen a small kid in an R rated movie in a long time. Not even in Deadpool 2 (it was literally ALL adults, even some elderly). I remember seeing a lot of kiddos in the first one.

It's for the best though, imo. Kids don't need to see Joker. They should be reading books.

You'd be surprised at what parents would take their kids out of school for. I went to see Spongebob 2 back in Feb 2015 at like 12 in the fucking afternoon and of course it was filled with kids that you'd think would be in school.

Maybe some year round kids were off. I forget when kids get off and on school these days.

Okay that's enough BOT for today, I gotta get my beauty sleep. BYE!!! 😘

I counted reserved shows for tomorrow at AMC and I could see it being 5% higher than today.

PS for Imax/Dolby/Prime

AMC US 2nd Day Dolby (510 shows)
 Total:34112/97256

AMC US 2nd Day Imax (616 shows)
 Total:20564/199177

AMC US 2nd day Prime (81 shows)
 Total:3343/12571

Dolby is super strong while Imax has weak PS. Prime is quite good though there are few Prime screens across US. I am thinking 15% increase minus previews for tomorrow

It’s a disturbing, screwed up movie. A B+ is real good for it as it demands a reaction from every viewer. Not everyone is going to respond to it the same way, yet it’s something every joke needs to see.

It ain’t your Grandad’s Cesar Romero Joker that’s for sure! Lol.
