He would always mention that BOM was one of his sources, obviously a main one. Even for those with IMDbPro access, BOM is a diminished resource.

So basically they changed the whole site just to devalue it even if you have IMDB Pro. Mess.

I didn't even know there was an IMDBpro. I guess industry people use it?

It's safe to say many, many people in the industry also used BOM too.

Well, apparently BOM (IMDB actually) has made box office less fun to follow, because only 2 people have voted so far this week in the Most Anticipated Films thread.

If you still care about movies despite BOM, feel free to post your top 10. That is, if you can even figure out how to use their new calendar to see which movies are coming out in the next 12 months.

BOM is now in an irreversible freefall and it's clear they won't be able to recover from it. It's on suicide watch and will undoubtedly implode very soon. The destruction of the BOM forums showed just how horrible customer management was. At the very least they could have warned us ahead of time to save the files from the archives but no...the Potter threads, Avatar, LotR, Pirates, Matrix, Twilight, Star Wars...they all disappeared and that really is a loss from a box office perspective.

But now this? BOM can go fuck themselves. Someone should make a new BO website with their information or just buy them out. At the very least, they could have asked for donations if things were hurting financially. Basically almost everyone here would have donated if it meant saving all the files and records.

Fuck them.

BOM isn’t a separate entity and hasn’t been for years. They’re wholly owned by Amazon.

So, wait, The-Numbers.com doesn't have any yearly information of ANY kind, let alone wW.

So now there is NO way to look up yearly WW charts at all? I mean-that's kind of basic info, isn't it?

Yes they have

A statement from IMDb says that the redesign was “made in response to customer feedback and usage patterns, which will continue to inform future feature launches.”

Bull fucking shit. Sureeeeeeeeee the users asked for a paywall and making the site worse...

Yes. This very forum exists because IMDB blew away the Mojo forums... in 2011. But we kinda forgot the longer-term implications of that — the writing was on the wall, we just ignored it (understandably).

Yeah, we knew it was coming.

Doesn't make the arrival any less painful.
