Not Anymore. GoTG 2 did $3mn in India (though it was blown by Baahubali 2). Rocket and Groot are big hits in India now. GoTG 3 easy peasy $15mn plus. If Thor cameo $20mn.

Exactly!

 

I can't remember the contract, but Sony have to use Spider-Man every 3-4 years or else the rights revert back to Marvel (though Marvel owns the merchandise rights) - but them using characters such as Venom, Morbius is a loophole they can use to ensure that it never goes back to them.

For any franchise if the first movie in a trilogy grossed twice as much as the third we always say something happened with the second but this one is immune according the defenders. Let’s face facts Disney has to be pissed such a disappointment

This is what happens when you give the franchise to a plagiarist who’s incapable of creating something original and his best idea for a sequel was to make a remake, and a pompous director who couldn’t care less about the past or the future of the franchise fooling everyone that he subverted anything when in reality the only thread he left open for SW 9 was EVIL Kylo vs GOOD Ray for the third straight film.

 

Everyone from Iger and Kennedy to JJ and Johnson are at fault for the forgettable mess this trilogy ended up being. It’s only legacy, destroying the original films and the entire impact of Episode 6 by the first 5 minutes of TFA.

 

Shame on Disney, shame on Iger and Kennedy, shame on JJ and Johnson.
