keysersoze123
WOW. it did better than my projections. From MTC perspective it did slightly less than Dolittle but actual number is higher. May be it will sell more adult tickets than Dolittle. Good enough for 20m OW.
Eric the Clown
If it follows A Dog's Way Home, it gets to 21M. Still a pretty significantly high budget to deal with, but does put it above tracking. Oh and Dat Boi II got 375K lmao at least it's better than Black Christmas

Blaze Heatnix
According to Deadline, The Call of the Wild has a budget of 135 million...That's nuts. 1 1
lorddemaxus
Quote which will see Paramount’s Sonic The Hedgehog the winner with $29M-$40M in weekend 2. Damn, nice range Deadline. https://deadline.com/2020/02/sonic-the-hedgehog-call-of-the-wild-barks-brahms-the-boy-ii-weekend-box-office-1202865381/ Edited February 21, 2020 by lorddemaxus
Krissykins
A smaller scale Dolittle then financially. I wonder if it’ll get the appropriate headlines or if Hollywood will go easy on this one? We’ll see.

Yeah, this is where it's so subjective to talk about success and failure. Relative to expectation and what might expect of a Call of the Wild adaptation, 21m would be a perfectly good opening weekend by sane measures. Unfortunately the budget was Insane.

DAJK
Didn't bother doing a major report last night. Call of the Wild did pretty good here (definitely think being in old-people-capital Victoria helped it, with Ford and the older source material). Woulda guessed something like ~1.3M previews. Movie just got bumped to the biggest auditorium at the one theatre that I can actually track sales for, so that's something.

filmlover
It's blowing my mind that The Call of the Wild carries a budget of $125M+. Yeah, they used a CGI dog almost the whole time but still. The people at Fox clearly didn't care during those last days of the studio as we knew it knowing that another studio would take the losses.
