Why are they using it as a comp then, if the Rock didn’t star?

Hopefully $25m is the floor for today and Saturday pushes numbers just a bit higher into the low 60s.

Jesus, 87% drop for Halloween Ends Fri-Fri? That's just horrendous.

It’s actually not that much worse than Doctor Strange 2’s -81.1% lol.

(I’m not saying it’s good lol)

The people predicting an 80% drop aren’t getting it though.

Ticket to Paradise underperforming compared to the UK (£2.8m opening beating Don’t Worry Darling ie equivalent of $28m). But it’s going higher than the $13m deadline number with a $5.5m Friday.

I don't think 15 would be bad for Ticket. This isn't cope. It would be bad given the preview numbers, I suppose, but I think it's a lowball of sorts and can increase and hold well enough. 15m would also be a respectable opening for this. Clooney and Roberts are big names but certainly aren't consistent draws ala Bullock, Tatum, and this lacks a genre hook, etc..

Nope- 44.3m

The Lost City- 30.4m

Don't Worry Darling- 19.3m

Woman King- 19m

Dog- 14.8m

The Northman- 12.2m

Beast- 11.5m

Barbarian- 10.5m

Moonfall- 9.8m

A billion dollar prediction for Dr Strange 2 wasn't too crazy. It came pretty close.

It's harder to hit a billion when you don't have China, Russia and other countries.

Overall Marvel Studios will probably make at least 2.7 billion this year so the brand is still rather strong.

DC needs to rebuild brand equity. Pathetic given the ENORMOUS floor it clearly began with highlighted by the massive openings for Man of Steel, BvS and Suicide Squad. Had those films been higher quality, there is no telling how high it could have gone. Now they are in full blown "build goodwill!" mode.

But isn't that what Shazam, TSS, Joker, Peacemaker and every other post JL project (except for WW84) did? Or did they not move the needle?

Joker was the only one on that group that was smash commercial hit and its not even DCEU

This soft reboot stuff from the Snyder-verse is a huge mess.

By the end of 2023 we'll know how bad it is. Or the mixed results will confuse WB execs even more. :sparta:

All of that stuff is fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, with the exception of Black Adam and Wonder Woman 84 which barely missed it (58%)

Does anyone care that James Gunn's Suicide Squad has a high RT rating?

RT ratings won't determine DC's future. Ticket stubs will.
