there is something off here, there is absolutely no way it has sold that many seats. (Unless people are somehow really committed to Florida alliance… lol)

 

Probably you are counting blocked seats in some cinemas. That would also explain how GB comps for Dune were so high and same here for Civil War.

 

Dune comp being $3M is almost impossible.

no EA sales. Could be blocked seats but I usually can't check verify that. Daily pace will be key

@TheFlatLannister the problem is, if all your previous trackings were counting those blocked seats, all you comps (including Ghostbusters and Dune) had the benefit of those blocked seats. If now you take out those seats from your tracking, this will create a distortion (because you counted them in your former trackings). Do you know what I mean?

No, this is an isolated event. I checked other films for that specific chain i.e Monkey man and Fall guy which don't have blocked seats. I noticed the market ratio was off last night after the run (It was an absurd number of seats sold skewing heavily Miami, which I ignored)

 

I didn't notice that lopsided skew for the other previous tracks

I checked some AMC theaters in NYC and LA for Civil War on Thursday the 11th and the 7:00 hour shows were selling briskly in IMAX and Dolby. I then checked Chicago and SF and some tickets had been sold but nowhere even close to the levels in NYC and LA. I then checked Dallas and Boston. They had sold a few but were a step or two behind Chicago and SF. 
 

I’ll defer to others as to how normal this behavior is with over two weeks to go.
