This fiasco reminds me of the time when Batman V Superman was delayed from a 2015 release to a 2016 release to be honest. I think the film still has potential to be at least good and I think the fact that the filmmakers are showing that they care very much about this product is at least a little relieving.

whispers very softly: The Last Jedi was pushed back from May 2017 to December 2017, you know.  Also  there was rumors of re-writes in Jan of 2016.
