You know, this is the 21st film to have a 100M OW, only 4 years ago Indy 4 was the 10th.In 1984 we saw for the first time 2 200M films.1994-2 300M films.2004-3 370 films. (If you want to get techincial we can include ROTK from the year before just to say 4 370M films within a 1 year period.)2009-2 400M films.

Spiderman broke the record in 2002 with 100m+ and 5 years later spiderman 3 broke the record with 150m+, then another 5 years later Avengers breaks it 200m+, so if the trend continues Avengers should keep the record till 2017.

Very cool. I mentioned in the other thread how similar this was to 2002. A marvel movie destroying the OW record set by a Potter film the year before.Also how many thought SM1 would be big but make less than Star Wars 2 and how many think TA would be big but lose to Batman. Deja Vu bigtime.

I just got back from checking out BOM (its something weird with me, as I don't believe the numbers until they are posted there), anyway, I saw that Hunger Games fell 47.3%. Granted it was the best hold for all holdovers, but FUCK!!! It was supposed to be a beautiful day and it was supposed to dethrone Potter. GAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!400M is gone now! Double FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :rant:
