They should have released this in March. The marketing was strong for it at the beginning of the year and I think it could have done 100+ in March fairly easily. Now the marketing has gone worse and more non-existent and there's too much competition. Still predicting 75-85 for it, but it could definitely do less. Unless this really is good enough for a BP nom, they should've kept the original date.

I liked the new trailer but you may be right, this probably would have done better in March, and it looks very well made.. but it seems highly unlikely that it will get a PB nom.

I think it's clear...they think they got awards potential.

We'll see if it's true.

Yep, all the trailers I've seen in the cinema have said March 2015. Same for PAN with it being a "summer" movie.

The Book was excellent. Howard has done pretty well with historical "True Stories" so this could be good.if he sticks to the facts and does not "Hollywood" it up to much. Fact is what actually happened is usually a lot more interesting then Hollywood clichés.

Poster looks great... trailer not so much. This "final" one is better, though.

The "whale attack" scene didn't look good, though. Not just how it was put together.

Still wanting to catch this as soon as it gets out there, though the excitement of early 2015 has passed...

Though the ending shot of this final trailer with Hemsworth  staring into the eye of this whale before throwing his harpoon makes it look like he's having a soft spot in his heart in wanting to kill the beast...

However, I don't think this would've been a 100 million hit anyway, regardless of opening date, let alone an "easy 100 million dollar  hit."  We know that Hemsworth is not a draw when he is not playing superhero.
