So this should be coming next September or October, right?

Yeah. If they're building exterior sets now then the rumoured May/June filming date is probably correct which gives them plenty of time to finish shooting the movie before the end of the year and allows an 8-10 month post window.

I could see them maybe holding it back for the early Holiday season, though.

Even more of a mini-Wednesday reunion:

Quote

Details as to the sequel’s plot are under wraps, though it’s understood that Burton will return to direct from a script by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, the co-creators and co-showrunners of the smash hit Netflix series Wednesday, on which he is a director and EP, and for which Elfman has composed the score. Keaton and Ryder are expected to reprise their roles, with Jenna Ortega joining the cast as the daughter of Ryder’s Lydia. Brad Pitt’s Plan B is also aboard the project, which will shoot this summer in London.

Interesting that WB went for 6th September, they must be confident that Blade isn't going to be released then.

I think we're going to see this a lot more going forward. More studios standing up to the former behemoth Marvel and placing their big tentpoles directly against any given Marvel movie. As a Marvel movie ironically said, when you make god bleed people stop believing in him.
