Beetlejuice Beetlejuice | September 6, 2024 | RIP Harry Belafonte

I don't think Warner has much interest in Super Bowl advertising so I'd be surprised if this showed up there, especially how far out it still is. I'm sure a teaser is imminent though.

They did one for Flash last year and... yeah, that didn't turn out well

Deadline is reporting 2024 AD is a part of the title.

Yes and their source is the poster and the social media post. The social medial post is #Beetlejuice #Beetlejuice so again not sure how people think 2024 AD is part of the title

I can’t see them putting a superbowl trailer either. I’m expecting Joker 2 and Beetlejuice 2 trailers to debut in March attached with Dune 2 and Godzilla vs Kong.

what's the reason people are predicting huge numbers for this? I don't know anyone that has seen the original movie. It definitely is no Ghostbusters or Back to the Future when it comes to 80s movies.

An argument could be made that the musical brought it to a new audience, but this movie has absolutely no connection to that anyways and even the musical was pretty different from the first movie. But yeah I don't see the huge audience some people are guessing for this. It could be profitable depending on budget but this early out my guess is, max, 250 mil ish WW

Beetlejuice remains one of the more iconic movies in Burton's filmography, and the addition of Ortega has so far proven to be a positive for social media engagement for this as a more compatible title to Wednesday than even the Scream franchise (which she might now be out of anyway, especially if this is a hit and ensures she remains booked and busy). It certainly feels like there's already a lot more genuine intrigue for this than, say, the new Ghostbusters movie that's just a few weeks away from release.

I won't say with confidence I expect this to be a great movie (especially when Burton's been the definition of a "going through the motions" filmmaker for quite some time), but I think even being just "good enough" is all it needs to be to reach a substantial audience, especially following what's looking, based on what's scheduled, to be a typical dog days of summer dry spell.
