The Warner Bros. Thread | Will NOT merge with Paramount...capitalism is still terrible

Recommended Posts

Absolute insanity that they're willing to throw a $90 million production that's nearly finished straight in the toilet because it "isn't enough of an event" while at the same talking about cutting costs everywhere they can.

This makes the Superman Lives debacle look small by comparison. At least that never actually got to filming.

Wow, I'm genuinely shocked. I don't see "WB wants these to be big events and this is a smaller scale thing" as the main reason to can this.

The main thing that comes to mind to want to cancel this is, new WB management reversing course on Keaton taking over as the main Batman...maybe Affleck WILL come back after all.

I get scrapping the Scoob sequel but I'm not convinced HBO Max will scrap all scripted programming and focusing on unscripted given scripted originals is what drives subscriptions.

Grace’s tweet was poorly written. MAX original shows would become reality based. The scripted MAX Originals that are on screens now (Peacemaker. Gossip Girl) would swap to the HBO brand which will continue to operate normally.

Batgirl was budgeted at around $80 million, with costs rising to nearly $90 million due to COVID-19 protocols. It’s a hefty sum, but significantly lower than DC theatrical releases, thus the film is said not to have the spectacle that audiences come to expect from DC fare.

How does Joker fit into this equation.
