It is a fine movie. The cast is solid (Sasha Baron Cohen is easily the standout, he is a breath of fresh air) and the score is good. The colors are very vibrant and it was fun.

 

But the script is fucking absurd. It is like they were in a hurry to film and release the sequel because time was running out and a sequel released too late for a movie like that might be problematic but at the same time they really wanted to do a sequel to a 1B hit and not doing it wasn't an option so they went with this lol.

The whole thing starts because of fucking pie crumbs. We see Helena Bonham Carter's head growing :rofl: There are wars. People die. And it all starts because of some dumb shit when the princesses were still young girls involving pie crumbs and Thorin was their father lol. Also, Time puts Johnny Depp and other Wonderland characters stuck in time 1 minute before tea, but this is never addressed again. Like, the movie completely forgets it made this. The whole scene is beyond useless. The scene should have been cut.

The last time I gave a movie a 7.5/10 was Civil War so 200M DOM confirmed.
