I just noticed that this is gonna top out at about $650M worldwide after the last soared past $1B. If that doesn't serve as a very harsh wakeup call...

I am sure it is. A new director will be brought in to try and freshen and up the series and TF6 release date will movie. But no way is this series dead. Besides Mission Impossible it is the only real money making franchise they have (Star Trek sadly is struggling thanks to the large budgets they require)

And the next one will have a much smaller budget.

140 is still possible.  Here are the multipliers after the 3rd Sunday.  The Last Knight is going to have to pull off some unexpected late legs to get to 140.  Even though the 'late legs' will match the other movies, The Last Knight should be facing heavier theater losses which will make it harder.  136.95 is a 2.00 multiplier since the end of First Sunday and if it falls below this, that would look bad.

If TF5 has the same legs as TF4 3rd weekend onward, it will do 133.

135 is possible because TF4 had crashed when Michael Bay produced TMNT opened.

Even as TF5 is loosing theaters, a scenario like that is not likely. So 130-135 imo.

SM, Apes, Dunkirk, Val, AtomicB should combined give plenty of options to teenage and 20-something males who seem to be the base of TFs.

TF4 3rd weekend was 16.3, and then added 36.6 more.

That's 2.245x more the 3rd weekend.

TF5 3rd weekend was 6.38. So with same legs it will add 6.38 * 2.245 = 14.3 more for 119 (3rd weekend cume) + 14.3 = 133.3 cume
