NY Times: How Hip-Hop Is Becoming The Oldies

 

tl;dr Many examples (with numbers) of stations shifting to this format being instant massive success stories. One station in Indiana went from 15th in its market to 1st in three weeks after shifting from Hot AC to Classic Hip-Hop. Which may explain why a music biopic in August is tracking for a $40 million-plus OW.

Reading some of the reviews has helped me clear my thoughts about it. It really does get into a LOT of stuff...

A Luther Campbell mini series needs to be the first thing green lit if NWA is as big as it looks.  It will have it all sex, football, arrests, court drama, Miami at the tail end of the coke era and the beginning of the bling era.
