Critics Consensus: An effortlessly entertaining blend of humor and heart, Shazam! is a superhero movie that never forgets the genre's real power: joyous wish fulfillment

This is a great description of the movie tbh.

I love re-finding out how weirdly bad Rotten Tomatoes is at updating its score every time a blockbuster's review embargo is dropped.

How many reviews?

Looks like there are a little over 30 reviews being counted, one of which is rotten, that I can see just by manually counting on the /reviews page.

I still don't see this doing big money business but hope im wrong and this achieves captain marvel level success or close to it.

I don’t see this doing anywhere near captain marvel but it doesn’t need to.

I’m hoping for 400-500mil.

It’s still empty. But I managed to read the consensus by clicking DCEU franchise with list of other films. Guess it’s around 40 reviews.

Are horror directors the key to DC's success on film?

Is Jordan Peele going to join the DCEU next?! :ohmygod:

The collider youtoube review makes a few good points about that.

This is really getting some proper rave reviews.

Are they gonna just CGI de-age the kids for the sequels?

That's a really good question, I wonder how they'll deal with them growing up
Even for the sequel they'll be already too mature...
huge part of Shazam's magic is them being kids, if they'll go on showing them as grown ups I have a feeling it won't work.
