Wow this weekend is piss poor, but I guess that's what happens when a movie like Nightcrawler is the biggest new release.

Next week can't come soon enough.

The SAW 10th ANNIVERSARY Re-issue earned an estimated $320K on Friday. ‪

Ouch. Even I was thinking it would make more on Haloween! But a sub-500k Friday? Do you guys think that now studios are going to re-think all their re-releases? I mean, after this, Forrest Gump etc.

How much did it cost to re-release this?

Jake Gyllenhaal's ‘Nightcrawler’ Creeping Past ‘Ouija’ at Box Office

http://www.thewrap.com/jake-gyllenhaals-nightcrawler-creeping-past-ouija-at-box-office/

Thriller heads for $13 million Halloween weekend as Nicole Kidman-Colin Firth's “Before I Go to Sleep” and “Saw” re-release are DOA

“Ouija” was No. 1 at the Friday box office but “Nightcrawler,” featuring Jake Gyllenhaal as a creepy L.A. cameraman, is heading for the win at the Halloween weekend box office.

Exactly.

This studios are hilarious though. Releasing old movies hoping people will watch.

Well, some of them do work.  I think a ten year anniversary of Saw was a good idea but they got a bit too aggressive with it by going for 1800 theaters, imo.

Perhaps, but its not like theyre taking screens away from Avatar to show it. Given that its Halloween weekend, its hard to see what else would have been an obviously better call. They had to put *something* on the screens and the other options are all pretty underwhelming. It turned out to be a mistake but it was a worthwhile gamble.
