These types of movies thrive on mystique and hiding alot of stuff about the story as clearly evidenced by that trailer. I won't be surprised if they keep this up in the remaining marketing material for this leading up to the movie's release but I must admit I was expecting a little bit more.

I love Godzilla and I don't mind they only show the monster at the end in a scene where they are attacked or something. I just want to see it on the big screen again :) I love the first movie.

The monster in Cloverfield is one ugly #$%^@@#$$#@. Why would you want to see it on the big screen again?

Xenomorph, Godzilla, The Predator, King Kong are monsters but they are products of good design.

Anyway, Cloverfield is 2/3 a love story and the movie can still work without a single shot of the monster.
