Is anyone honestly shocked about Hot Tub Time Machine 2 doing so poorly? It looked like the definition of a grossly unnecessary sequel to a movie that was a mid-range performer at best that was a number of years too late, and it also came across as really low-rent without the star of the original.

In the end I meant to not conclude like... forgot who it was - did, before all tickets will be sold / the movies did end their worldwide runs.

The Duff has a $8.5 million budget and the WOM may be positive so it is going to be okay. HTTM2 has a $14 million budget so it isn't going to be a significant disaster either even if it loses some money.

On a related note, we watched Horrible Bosses 2 last weekend and we all agreed that it turned out to be fairly funny.

 

Not the comedy of the year or anything, but it had a good number of laughs and we all enjoyed it.

Horrible Bosses 2 was a solid throwaway comedy. Something to chuckle at a few times and never watch again.

Yea, and it's a film that came out on Valentines Day weekend and did 8.5 million in previews.  The upfront demand for it was insane.  You can scoff at the number all you want but I thought a 65% drop would be normal.  I don't think it will drop 70% at all.  So it's a big drop but there was no reason for it not to drop a lot.
