Weekend Estimates: Ant-Man 58.04 | Minions 50.24 | Trainwreck 30.24 | IO 11.66 | JW 11.36 (Page 88)

fixed

Ant-Man failing to break out means that the slot for late summer breakout is still open. No action movie has been huge since Jurassic World, everything is perfectly set up for Rogue Nation to have a 75M+ opening.

Ant-Man is DEMOLISHING THE COMPETITION. JW is CRUMBLING and Minions has TOXIC WOM.

That should cover everything.

To be fair, 57% against a $55 million opener that isn't direct competition isn't exactly great WOM.

Seems Minions is middle-of-the-road in terms of WOM so far. $340-350 million DOM is my guess. But it could surprise next weekend with a 30-35% drop out of nowhere.

Don't you mean Pixels?  ;)

Rogue Nation is tracking at $40 million right now.

Who do you think would win in a fight between Hulk and the T-1000?

T-1000. Not even close ^_^

T-1000 needs to be defeated with brains (eg: how to make use of fortuitous supplies of liq nitrogen).

The IMAX contract was propping it up. Time for reality to set in.

IMAX contracts are weird. Ant-Man is getting one week only in IMAX, it is losing all the screens which contributed 10% of its weekend take within a week (along with all of PLF screens within 2 weeks).

Everything except for its completely humdrum marketing campaign. They need to ramp it up if they want a breakout. There isn't a late summer breakout every year, not feeling it this time

Which is a shame because those shrinking scenes probably look great in IMAX
