He needs to embrace the fun and reinvents himself.

He always plays such intense characters.

I didn't even like Tinker Tailor that much but Tomas Alfredson was still the biggest reason I had hopes for this. Bummer. And I guess Rebecca Ferguson will have gone the full three years between her M:I films without finding an opportunity to really deliver on that promise.
