That's incredible for Deadpool. I knew it would do well but not this well. Personally I thought the movie was crass and juvenile and didn't care for it. None of my friends did too. We are Asian though so that may have something to do with it

I am happy for Ryan Reynolds. I like the guy

Deadpool seemed more like a silly movie to watch on neftlix drunk and chill.

DEADPOOL will make twice the predicted weekend number of some of us here. 65 M was also what Fox expected.

FOX had in their hands their biggest franchise ever and it only got greenlighted because a bunch of fanboys cried during years for it to happen.

Seriously, if someone has live reactions of FOX executives seeing the numbers getting bigger and bigger I pay big money for them.

Great hold for Panda. 25% Friday to Friday drop. That would be great on a normal weekend itself. With VD Sunday and Monday this one will easily go past 25m over the 4-day weekend. Heading for ~135m dom.

Very few people thought it's USA + China gross combined would fall short of 300m.

Those came out more than 10 years ago though. I was just talking about his movies during that period.

He's always been hit or miss at the box office, and when he misses, he really misses. Zoolander 2 was a sequel that was both 10 years too late (and was a sequel to a movie that was always more of a cult hit than a mainstream one) and was apparently not worth the wait, a quality that was reflected in its mostly laugh-free marketing.

wait what? Ryan Reynolds has played Deadpool before?

yep, which was joked about in Deadpool.  He was in X-men origins: Wolverine as Wade Wilson and they turned him into Deadpool.

Yeah I got all the wolverine jokes in the movie, which I found really funny, but didn't realise that was from another X Men movie. I know Deadpool is part of X-Men so I just thought it was jokes about X-Men.
