I think it's one of GDT's more mainstream friendly films. If you're willing to buy into the premise you'll be entertained by it. I am less certain though that enough people are for it to match Pacific Rim as I previously thought it might.

Okay. I'm a Guillermo del Toro mark but this truly may his been his best. The only qualm being...

how they didn't see Eliza on the monitor multiple times with the beast. She only seemed to movie the one. 

But, yeah, more heart than anything from him yet. The humor was tone perfect too. And, wow, everyone in the cast is just fucking great. Pretty much loved this one.

This is good. Didn't love it, bur it's very well done, beautifully shot. Like most of Del Toro's work, I admire it more than love it. Crowd seemed to enjoy it, though I'm sure the GA will be uncomfortable with the more "romantic" moments in the film.

Probably about $35-40M at most unless it starts to really gain traction awards-wise.

I just thinks it is a shame that this film and Call Me By Your Name are stalling in theater expansions.

I find it highly unlikely this ends up below 40M. It only needs another 20M to hit that mark, and it'll get a lot more theaters in the last two weeks of January
