If they do a good enough job selling Joker and the Squad in marketing over the next few months, they should hide Batman.  He's only been seen for a brief second in the Comic Con first look, but we've heard he has at least a bit more than that in the film, so would be cool to keep that as a surprise for the film for the 'general audience'.

BUT, it's Batman ... they won't be able to help themselves.

He probably only has two scenes in the movie, I really would prefer they don't.

Fudging applies to actuals only. Estimates are by definition open to correction. WB can be predicting an optimistic Sunday for the headlines before the estimates are revised downwards but that is not what fudging is. Fudging is changing the real data that will come in on Monday. Before they look at the real data (officially), they are just predicting the Sunday with the condition that it's open to correction.

For example when Paramount released the estimated ow of TF4 as 100m, at that point it did not qualify as a fudge. But once on Monday the real numbers came in and then they used the wrong number, it was fudging. And we know that only cause Rth has access to the correct number and shared it with us.

So if BvS actuals come in at 170m+ and Rth tells us that the real number was smaller than actuals, we will call it a fudge. But estimates can be right or wrong, not fudgy. Once you modify the real data, fudge is in.

It's Batman. They would be stupid to hide him. Even if it's just a glorified cameo like Wonder Woman in BvS.

Give this man a medal.

Sure, since it's so close they might as well put out estimates that put it over a certain threshold. I think every studio would have done that. But it's not an unreasonable number, actuals might turn out to be lower, or not.

WB probably knew they were going to release the 170 m estimate since Saturday afternoon.

They don't care what the Sunday drop will most likely be.

They'd be stupid not to take the "biggest OW in WB history" headline.

I got the most majestic trailer line-up ever last night when I saw BvS for the 2nd time: SUICIDE SQUAD, CIVIL WAR and APOCALYPSE.

Lmao

I got those as well along with the not-so-majestic The Legend of Tarzan.

Results of Weekends:

Fans:

- Big Opening and solid boxoffice everywhere leading to a large total.

- Reaction from audiences much better then critics

Detractors:

- Critics trashed the movie

- Audience score heading well below MOS already

Fuck all that BVS noise. Check out Spectre deciding that it's not done yet and going after Superman Returns' total now. That's the story of the weekend

Sony is just trolling at this point.

Lol, I just caught on to that epicness recently. Most hilarious last minute BO run in a long while.
