Fair enough. But I would say that CM did have a pre-Endgame mania that probably drove down the internal multiplier, something that Black Widow won't have. I'm also not sure that Endgame, being an ending, will have the same effect as the other Avengers films.

As big as your average big MCU solo, probably. The actors aren't Russian so I doubt it'll have a boost there.

This is going to be massive overseas, where Scarlett Johansson is the most prominent and beloved actor under 40.

Rachel Weisz, Pugh and Harbour add to the star power, and the property itself is really hot at the moment ( Marvel as a brand and Black Widow as a character both being super well-received).

 

It remains to be seen wheter Coronavirus or the Superhero fatigue will factor in, but as it stands, I'm pretty confident this will outgross WW1984 overseas by at least 100 million. 

 

Domestic, on the other hand, is harder for me to predict, so I will wait a bit more before I try and predict.

Scarlett Johansson is crazy popular Overseas. 700m+ OS is my prediction. 

Without China around 550m.

 

The hurdle is obviously Cronavirus.

I mean... Lucy was crazy popular overseas; the rest of Johansson's success has been as part of the MCU machine. Which is also why this will get over a billion.

Was it announced before Endgame made $2.798B? It is the next Disney MCU movie, just need to decline by less than 65% to get a billie.

Even if coronavirus is still a thing affecting box office (I personally dont think it will be) by the time this is out I think itll still make a billion without China.

If Corona virus is still affecting BO by the time of its release then I dont see how it gets to 1b. It's impossible without China I think but even without that South East Asian BO will be affected if Corona virus is still around.

I mean Captain Marvel made a billion without it, and Black Widow is an established character already. Not implausible that it could do on par with that.

if it gets to a billion, it will probably be with china , the question is when black widow will be released there, even if this thing continues, i cant see how black widow , thats so hyped there, wont be able to hit 100 mill there, so i think that if the movie hits around 900 without china , then even if the virus continues, and widow release in jun/july it will be able to make 100 mill

captain marvel made 976 or so without china , very close though ,and i agree on that

Without China I think BW gets around $800M-$900M which is still a great performance.
