Matinee numbers are rolling in and The Jungle Book is ontrack right now to gross around $25M today (that includes the impressive $4.2M it brought in last night) for a high $70M three-day gross. The well-reviewed PG-rated adventure film from Disney should pick up steam as the weekend progresses with tomorrow a strong family moviegoing day. Meanwhile, the PG-13 rated Barbershop: The Next Cut is still in line with estimates right now for a nice three-day opening in the high $20Ms with a possible shot at $30M. Matinees are said to be playing very strong today and Sunday should have a lesser percentage decline than other films in the marketplace.

Excuse you but the BFG is going to be a 200m blockbuster with a 90%+ Tomatometer.  In Spielberg we trust.

The CGI are great but I don't see Mark Rylance butt ugly face becoming a kid favorite.

Cool to see ScarJo continuing to work in great movies. It's especially impressive for a minimally talented hot girl. I mean just think of all the Jessica Biels and the Jessica Albas and the Megan Foxes. She bucked the trend.

ScarJo is infinitely more talented than the likes of Jessica Alba or Megan Fox. Come on now. They wish they had a Lost in Translation or a Her or a franchise as huge as The Avengers to their names.
