Surely, they could have done some amazing work with makeup and costuming to turn the actors into cats? This of course would have been the more difficult and time consuming process, but could have been really impressive (and perhaps led to some likely Oscar wins in the creative categories). But what do I know.

 

At the very least, it looks like Jennifer Hudson is incredible, again, bringing a powerful and emotional performance through song just like she did in Dreamgirls. She is the best part of the trailer.
