BLAIR WITCH | Sequel to THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT | 9/16/16 | The Blair Witch returns as The Blair "Blair Witch" Witch

Recommended Posts

It's really weird.... I watched TBWP the other day, when I watched it all those years ago, I was 13, it scared the crap out of me... But after I watched it again recently I didn't get any of that feeling. The movie went by so quick it felt like it was over before I could really get into it.

Doesn't matter, I'm watching this opening weekend. I hope to recapture some of those feelings like when I watched the original for the first time. My wife is coming.. so should be enjoyable.

What are the chances of them actually showing the Blair Witch? She was described as being really hairy and floating with her feet not touching the ground. Or is she going to show herself as perhaps Heather?

Didn't realize it was playing there. Awesome. On a side note, I need to get up there some day. How difficult is it to get tickets to the big movies at TIFF B? I know tickets can be crazy expensive.

It's pretty difficult.  They are expensive and they sell out fast.

For those unaware, there's a viral campaign going on for this one now too.

There's a Kickstarter from 2014 about the documentary they're making in the movie, with updates stopping (and backers wondering if the movie was still happening) before an update about the crew being missing: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/891264965/the-absence-of-closure/description

There's a Facebook page set up to finding Lisa Arlington (the filmmaker): https://www.facebook.com/Finding-Lisa-Arlington-1596370587323312/

And this website is also somehow related: https://darknet666blog.wordpress.com/

Okay, the Kickstarter part is pretty cool.

Tomorrow I find out if I will be attending the midnight showing premiere at TIFF.  My friend is working it this year and she is going to find out tomorrow if she can get me a ticket or not.  I think she will be able to.  But not for certain.  It's a question and answer period with the director and writer too. :)

That's a better Kickstarter than one I backed

Who said that Lionsgate can't promote a movie?

Don't Breathe also had a viral marketing, actually, Deadline even wrote an article saying that Sony spent more in the internet marketing than in the TV marketing.

It's interesting to see that is the horror movies that are introducing this new Era, where the movies has a bigger focus on internet than in the real life.

Reminds me of the Blair Witch Project marketing back when it was released. It was marketed entirely through the Internet.

The opening night of Blair Witch sold out in 12 minutes for the Toronto International Film Festival. So sadly I will not be seeing it before it opens on September 16th.
