Good. It sucks that the best UW movie RotL was the lowest grossing. Now it won't be.

@CoolioD1 I said on another forum long time ago, that Silence was going to be the most overpredicted movie and than it was going to fail with awards. And I was chased away. Now look who's bombing with awards. Not me. I like Marty and the cast but this is barely anyone's thing. I really don't know who this movie is for. Not even AMPAS.

It's for Marty, his passion project. I can't imagine another studio will let him make something like this again unless Leonardo Dicaprio is the lead though.

Studios usually let directors have one or two flops as long as they deliver another hit, if Marty directs another Shutter Island or Wolf of Wall Street type hit then it'll make something like Silence seem worthwhile

i'm not too bummed about the sinatra thing being dead. out of all the potential projects on his plate it always seemed the least interesting. devil in the white city is the one he's thinking of doing that intrigues me the most but it seems like he wants to shoot Irishman this year.

The Irishman could be a winner for him as it would be his first film with DeNiro for a long time, Devil in the White City I like the sound of but Sinatra I imagine if Marty doesn't do it then another director like Howard, Zemeckis etc will

Hidden Figures... led the way on Friday with $7.6 million, putting it on pace for between $21 million and $23 million...by its amazing reviews, as well as its A+ rating from CinemaScore. If it does land on the high end of expectations, then it has a real shot at top spot for the weekend.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was second on Friday with $6.05 million, but holdovers tend to have better internal multipliers, so it will earn about $23 million over the weekend. This is a little lower than anticipated, but....

Sing earned third place with $5.1 million on Friday. Since it is a family film, ...pull in about $23 million over the weekend. I...

Underworld: Blood Wars was right behind with $5 million on Friday, but it will quickly drop. Its reviews have improved, but are still just 19% positive, while it earned an okay B+ from CinemaScore. Look for an opening weekend of $13 million and a relatively quick exit from theaters.

Thats because it does. Its actually a pretty good movie. I assume youve seen it, right?

Yeah, I've actually had seen it. It was one of about 10 movies I saw last month.

Does that accurately answer your condescending question

Patriots Days' numbers bode very well for next weekend. Lone Survivor made $381,561 from only 2 theaters over its 16 day limited launch before opening with $37M in wide release. This obviously won't go as high but mid-$20M for the 4-day should be easy.

6 Moana $9,100,000 -17% 2,549 -226 $3,570 $228,081,182 7 Disney

Provided that generous BO projection holds that puts Moana 25%+ over Toy Story 2's comparable w/e and $9m above it's total at that point.

With the same pace as TS2 from here on out  it would it make around $268m.  If it continues it's better pace then we might have a domestic race with Sing.
