Avatar sequels get official release dates

So if the remaining Star Wars films haven't switched to Christmas releases, can they do that, now?

Also, they can slot in another couple into that two year gap without any competition. Win/win!

JESUS, The Promise's audience score is 90% :ohmygod:

I'm shocked, not because of anything to do with its' quality, but because groups originating from Turkey had insanely downvoted the movie on IMDB due to political agenda

I reckon they'll rest the main series for a few years but have the anthology films in May and December. Episode IX is likely for December 2019

It rebounded from like 1 star, now it's 5.6 on IMDb.

While Avatar may have set it's release dates - lets actually see it make progress toward a finished product before we get our hopes up too much lol...

and Sheesh what a terrible weekend. 5 New Releases and not one over 5m.... F8 is actually doing well - I think we just have to remember that this is much later in the school year than F7 so it's pattern will be slightly different. It nearly got the 150% increase it needed to match F7's drop.

Who wants to start taking bets on Avatar getting delayed again?  Just because the first one made an obscene amount of money doesn't mean society is itching for seventeen more.  It's kind of amazing how a movie can make so much money yet have absolutely no impact on pop culture.

-The Post (aka "untitled Steven Spielberg") is being released in limited on 12/22/17 (presumably wide on 1/12/18)

-Maze Runner: Death Cure moved to 2/9/18 from 1/12/18

-Red Sparrow moved to 3/2/18 from 11/10/17

-Deadpool 2 is being released on 6/1/18

-New Mutants is being released on 4/13/18

This. There was some talk awhile ago that Lucasfilm was going to stop the saga films for a little while after IX, likely in order to build up hype for another trilogy. Now, with the Avatar announcement, that plan will work out perfectly.

At my AMC, The Promise is performing better than yesterday and is probably the busiest movie that isn't the Top 3. Born in China is performing rather softly compared to yesterday, and Unforgettable is still flopping hard.

-Dark Phoenix is being released on 11/2/18

Will be interesting if Mulan stays put or moves.

April's become more interesting with The New Mutants now added.
