Really depends on what you're looking for, but usually the most important takeaway for just a casual glance is the comp.  More on that in a bit.   But even that is highly dependent on a movie being either in a similar genre or having a similar pre-sale pattern as folks will buy tickets at different times during a pre-sale window thanks to a very long list of factors.   Add in that movies will have different promotional schedules during their pre-sales (review embargoes, TV ca

did i say something wrong ? it was expected that the comp would drop today bc bw had the reviews in the same day, still if i remember correctly the pace in his theater the last few days was 60-70 , so now being 80 means probably that it has started to accelerate from now on 🤷‍♀️.

I would look at how fast the Shang Chi comps are dropping. That started PS a week later and probably will have better run rate going into final week.

My Hero Academia Denver Friday

 

802 tickets sold in 7 theaters

 

Demon Slayer comp: 3.15M

 

Only counted the theaters that Demon Slayer released in, and 2 of them don't have showtimes. Also I realize that Demon Slayer isn't a great comp because of the state of theaters at the time. But this was just a rough check and I probably won't look at it again

The sales in Toronto at fairly steady. 15 percent for a THURSDAY show 2 weeks away (in november no less) Toronto doesn't do that too much. My guess would be it being a new IP doesn't hurt it, seems like Torontonians like their Marvel films

The other cinemas comp I have are for T-4 days i.e. 8019 in same 50 cinemas. Not an exact science, but Calgary & Edmonton grew 62% for SC in the 5 days. If others also grew at same pace, so almost par Shang Chi at same time which is pretty great. Should open with ~$0.9M previews in Canada.

Dune comp chosen like a true genius, ~perfectly matched Tuesday 👀   
 

Though, the Tues to Tues comp May understate things for MHA a bit, right? Dune was just 2 days to the Th comp day whereas MHA still has 3 to go.
