Terminator Dark Fate Previews (T-20)

Since I saw tracking of 40m+, I was expecting it to have good PS. But so far numbers are not that big but there is a long way to go. I will update in a week's time and will do daily updates from around 10 days to release.

So we lost fandango but got even better two MTCs tracked. Great @keysersoze123 & @Menor.

 

Let's crack the third big chain, Regal as well 😛

@keysersoze123 use AMC + Cinemark for projections, that will give bigger sample and neutralise if one of two is overplaying.

 

Also I wanna know if it is possible to get data in time frame, like ps exclusively for evening shows, that will help in tracking if film is pre-sale loaded or not.

Even worse. Just over a ticket per show. I think it will take be close to release before this can be interpreted. But Terminator fan base dont seem to be in a hurry.

Regal is not easy through backend. But may be @Menor could do it using front end automation. But Menor did say he could automate fandango which would be even more awesome. That has data not just Regal but also Alamo Drafthouse which is one of the busiest chain with fewer theaters. Plus so many other chains like Arclight, showcase etc. My script works for sites where clicking on show would show seats available/not available. But Regal and other sites require us to select seats and that can only be done through front end. Plus some sites dont even show the data when you scrap the page.

WOW. it actually had a good boost at both AMC and Cinemark. At least I have Addams family to compare with next week 🙂

Better increase at AMC compared to yesterday. I think 40K is the target. Cinemark was slightly lower than yesterday but in terms of % its better increase than AMC. Its ratio relative to AMC seem consistent with what we saw for Addams finish and so it could be something like 40/16-17K(AMC/Cin). That would be 2.5m previews if ratios are similar.

That's what Sacramento was looking at last night, FWIW.  Still, lots of room for volatility even at less than a week to go.

of course. it could higher or lower based on the run and also final day push is the most critical. Addams family did most of its PS on that day. So we have to wait and watch. But it wont hurt to project. Just to see how consistent the data is.

Terminator's fate would be decided by critics.  Many audience are waiting for the reviews before deciding whether they will buy tickets. (US reviews will come out on Oct 22.)

So I messed up. You know how a couple days ago I said Maleficent only sold 1 ticket? Well turned out I missed one theater in my searching, and it actually sold 5 tickets that day. Still not great, but better than the one ticket. Just telling people that so they don't get ultra surprised by how different tonight's number looks, or why the math isn't adding up. It happens!

Not bad a day at all. Maintained similar rate to yesterday on a friday. No change in prediction. Real action should start on Monday.

My theater has showtimes up for Doctor Sleep that go on sale officially Thursday and the showtimes are spaced almost 3.5 hours apart. Clearly it's a really long movie.
